Hi Anna - glad you enjoyed the piece! I agree - the idea that the Burgundy appellation system is some kind of price-fixing mob is pretty nonsensical, especially when - broadly speaking - you can taste the improvements in quality as you go up the pyramid. As for Brunello, I think it has enough track record to show there are differences in regional style, so why not express them on the label. Cheers, M]]></description>

The smaller parcels allow for the representation of microclimates, micro-terroir if you will, which as we all know has quite an impact on the finished product. Do you believe that Brunello really needs sub-zones? It is a pretty small growing region already.
