McWilliams are making some great wines. You'll have to tell me more about that balloon landing some time - reminds me of a time I did a tandem skydive and was used as a crash mat by the guy I was strapped to! Oooof!!

Sweaty saddle, ah, that old chestnut! Perfect example of the outdated wine cliché that people hear or read and then trot out. Often wine writers are as bad as everyone else at doing this. I think I might have experienced the Hunter Sweat, but only on one visit back in the 80s, and it was more to do with a hairy balloon landing than a bottle of Shizza.

Good to read more about the region, the first Aussie I visited. Whilst most wine loving Poms will have heard of it, we seem to see fewer Hunter wines today in the UK than in the heady days of Rosemount's assault on our shores. I'd love a return visit to the McWilliams homestead.
