We are almost in total agreement. In my recent piece on minerality I said that describing a wine has to be a blend of science and fact with poetry, because our aim is not just to describe (dull), but to communicate, and to inspire. Understanding what you have written goes a long way towards avoiding regurgitating the same old dull note time after time, to an audience which without the direct experience of that wine will remain nonplussed.

Almost total agreement? I’d never be nasty to Kate Bush!
