I’ve heard back from the buying team at Lidl – they say that although they haven’t had any plans to do canned Prosecco in the UK, they couldn’t vouch for what Lidl might be planning to do in other countries where it operates. So no canned Prosecco from Lidl UK I’m afraid – it seems that with the looming shortage that’s been in the news recently, their main preoccupation is securing enough stock in bottles… Hope that helps a bit!

Prosecco? I received a copy of the Lidl wine guide this morning and saw your name included in the “team”.
I have a question which you may be able to answer.
My niece saw that Lidl was producing a can of Prosecco and was trying to source some for a picnic with friends. She couldn’t find it anywhere. Is it available?
I wondered if it fell foul of the Doc Prosecco laws which doesn’t allow Prosecco to be sold by the keg, only in bottles. I said I would try to find out for her.
Can you enlighten us?
