Thanks David. The Jaspis is his top cuvee, which I haven&#039;t tasted yet. Looking forward to it on the strength of the Gestad though. Remarkably few other Old World countries make convincing Syrah, but Germany is really getting somewhere now.]]></description>

I really rate Ziereisen&#039;s, though I think the one I have tried was labelled Jaspis Alte Reben. Their vineyards are relatively sheltered which I imagine helps with the presumably cooler temps down in southern Baden, in contrast to the warmer Pfalz. I wish I&#039;d been at that tasting.]]></description>
