There’s not that much difference between Burgundy and Champagne in many ways, but the two regions are treated so differently. Haven’t encountered Herve Mathelin – will keep an eye out next time I’m in France.

It’s a real shame that UK importers don’t diversify as much as they should in this region. If I may I can also heartily recommend the growers champagne from Herve Mathelin in Troissy. But you can’t get it in the UK, it is available in Ireland.
